I was first introduced to this musical on a Saturday rainy afternoon when I was a child sitting with my grandmother watching the television. I was enthralled by the dancing, the costumes, the singing and the staging and wished I could do that.
Fast forward to many years later, and the show has been brought to the UK. Steve Allen, announces that he’s seen it on his early morning show on LBC. His review pricked up my ears and I put this on my wish list of things to do. Imagine my surprise when I was given tickets to go and see it for myself. Oh boy, it most certainly did not disappoint. The costumes, staging, dancing, music, songs, dialogue, makeup, everything was outstanding. The show was breathtaking, it was everything I envisioned and more. The cast & crew out-did themselves. This musical took me back to sitting with grandmother on that rainy Saturday afternoon, where I still wished I could do that.
So for all you musical lovers or not, this is definitely a show worth seeing, no matter the cost.
