At Bob Bob Ricard’s…

This has to be one of my favourite restaurants in London. For which I am happy to say, it is now listed as one of the top restaurants to visit, despite trading for 10 years. Round of applause to Bob Bob.

The staff are polite and willing to go overboard to make you feel welcome and to enjoy the full experience of what Bob Bob has to offer.

The decor says opulence with a touch of art deco, especially the downstairs. The booths give you and your party or your loved one an element of privacy to chatter or to be romantic.

The menu entices you with a series of Russian vodkas for starters. However, I would say despite its Russian heritage, it is seared with a European flavour.

For me, the menu has changed slightly from when I last visited which was quite some time ago but yet still divine.

I even asked them to bring back the beetroot and goats cheese starter, as that was my all time fave. The staff assured me they’d look into it. LOL.

I have to say, despite my fave starter no longer on the menu, I tried the St Petersburg (Hen’s Scotch egg) for the those who don’t know. This was delicious!! My mouth is salivating as I write this..

This was followed by the main course Lobster Macaroni made with 4 different types of cheeses. Now you cannot beat this dish. Well, you could, as there is a wide variety to choose from. There’s something for everyone.

Don’t get me started on the dessert. You have to try the Eton Mess. Trust me this is exquisite, as it just melts in your mouth.

Crumbs, I almost forgot to tell you – pressing the champagne button is a must! You do that, and you will receive instant service from your chevalier; who is only too happy to advise you, on the best bottle of champagne to have - whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just out for an evening.

However, if you’re not a champagne person (and I don’t know anyone who isn’t) they have an extensive wine list too.

So, I hear you say what’s the cost for this extravagant evening??? Set aside at least £200 dinner for two including champagne. Reasonable to some and possibly expensive for others but it’s definitely worth it!
